Dr. Kaplowitz is a psychiatrist with expertise in both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts and New York. A warm and caring physician, Dr. Kaplowitz is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their highest possible level of well-being.
She graduated from Harvard University Magna Cum Laude with an AB in Biology and Neuroscience in 1985 and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1990.
Dr. Kaplowitz completed a Pediatric Internship at Boston Children's Hospital, and then a Residency in Adult Psychiatry at McLean Hospital. In addition, she pursued advanced training in college mental health at the Harvard University Health Services, and in Perinatal Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Kaplowitz also has research experience in the field of hormones and behavior.
Dr. Kaplowitz was a Teaching Associate in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School for 25 years and now serves as the Medical Director of the Center for Early Relationship Support at JFCS. Her past clinical positions include Assistant DIrector of Outpatient Psychopharmacology at The Cambridge Hospital and Attending Psychiatrist at The Cambridge Hospital Latino Clinic. She has also been on staff at Mount Auburn Hospital where she founded the Women's Health Liaison Service to serve the mental health needs of women throughout the lifecycle.
